<image:caption>The French company Team-Tex wanted a car seat system with stroller to compete in the higher market child mobility sector. The results from this three year development program is the M!go seat system designed to cater for children from 0 - 5 years old. My role as team designer was exploring and establishing the initial product brand strategy with respect to look and feel and define the product features for all the products. Some innovative features centered around the child’s well being were developed through this process making this family of products unique in the market.</image:caption>

<image:caption>The brief for this project was to create a new category of home devices for Vivint. Hired to lead a talented Industrial design team in collaboration with a trend forecasting agency, the project was strategic in nature for the purpose to provide inspiration to the inhouse design team for future products lines. Based on their specific technologies and expertise in home internet and security product market. Incorporating the new product brand values that had been developed, several different brand ideas were explored from which this series was chosen. The result from this exploration created a product line that was more lifestyle focused and designed to work cohesively with the different home architectural styles.</image:caption>

With continuing collaboration with Smartdesign as a follow up to Flipshare TV, an expandable network system was envisioned as a replacement to the decentralized systems existing at the time. The LEGO system would comprise of a home hub and Powerline networking plugs that would accept feature building blocks to be ‘plugged in’ enabling users to configure and personalize the home network to their specific needs. <image:caption>Proprietary and Confidential The Jewel companion app is connected to the Jewel device via Bluetooth and shows the respective status of the device and mirroring the corresponding LED color and verbal alerts in a more visual way. The targeted user group in this case has been found to be less familiar to smartphone technology and a need for a simple application is preferred. The feature set has been simplified with easy navigation and visually engaging dashboard to highlight the status of the Jewel status while also providing access to important information and user instructions. Due to strict security protocol, the device cannot be controlled through the app. The software backend provides Element Science with important compliance and device therapy data during the patient’s wear and when the patient does experience an event, the provider has quick access to the therapy report to help diagnose and expedite post event hospital care.</image:caption>

The lead designer on the account, a new vision around what the small simple camcorder could be was developed using thorough consumer research with competitive market and customer analysis. With the success of the first product launch I remained the principal lead throughout the subsequent product launches during which time their exponential growth as a company (changing brand name to Flip video) and market leader led in an acquisition by Cisco for $590M. <image:title>Work - Jewel PWCD @ Element Science Inc.</image:title>
<image:caption>Proprietary and Confidential As of 2014, approximately 330,000 people experience life-threatening cardiac arrest each year, placing them at significant risk of sudden death during recovery. While the market is projected to grow at an annual rate of 8%, existing solutions fail to meet the compliance levels physicians require, averaging just 14.1 hours of wear per day. Element Science is on a mission to change this by offering a solution that seamlessly integrates into a patient’s lifestyle while delivering an exceptional user experience. By prioritizing comfort and usability, the goal is to ensure maximum compliance and improved patient outcomes. The Jewel is a patch-based wearable cardio-defibrillator designed for patients at high risk of cardiac arrest. Worn as a protective measure during the rehabilitation phase, it continuously monitors heart rhythms 24/7, issuing alerts and delivering life-saving therapy in the event of a dangerous arrhythmia. I joined the company to define the vision and architecture for this groundbreaking wearable defibrillator. My role involved leading the development of a high-fidelity concept prototype while also assisting the founder in crafting and presenting the Series A funding pitch deck to early investors—including Google Ventures and Third Rock Ventures. Following a successful $38 million Series A funding round, I became a full-time member of the founding team, spearheading all Design and User Experience efforts. My work encompassed defining the patient experience and journey, shaping the defibrillator product and branding strategy, and leading initiatives related to accessories, packaging, digital applications, and operational processes. In 2024, the company completed a successful clinical trial, saving six lives and earning an endorsement from the American Heart Association based on outstanding results and high patient compliance. With this strong foundation, the company is now advancing toward commercialization of the Jewel system in the U.S. market.</image:caption>

<image:caption>In 2012 the founder of Wingo approached me to collaborate on a new patented ergonomic case for mobile devices. The aim was to design a product that would provide the right amount of support without straining the hands. The original product supported the Kindle, but the pivot to iPad was made once it started to dominate the market. For this product, pilot programs with several health providers and other health institutions have been undertaken using the latest iPad Mini.</image:caption>
