M!go child seat system
The French company Team-Tex wanted a car seat system with stroller to compete in the higher market child mobility sector.
The results from this three year development program is the M!go seat system designed to cater for children from 0 - 5 years old.
My role as team designer was exploring and establishing the initial product brand strategy with respect to look and feel and define the product features for all the products. Some innovative features centered around the child’s well being were developed through this process making this family of products unique in the market.
+0 car seat
The reverse facing car seat for newborns and up to 10 months was designed to connect to the M!go stroller. The unique hoop frame that cradles the seat construction becomes integral to the side impact protection mechanism and adjustment of the child seat to maximize comfort.
An innovative feature in this product is the two piece clamshell construction that can be adjusted to lay the child flat during extended duration of use. It also relieves the burden of having to remove the child when they are sleeping while traveling. The restraining belts also adapt automatically during that moment of adjustment making sure the child is always safe and supported.
isofix docking system
The baby seat can either be fastened in the back seat using the car’s regular belt system or through this installed ISOFIX system that is mandatory in certain countries around the world. The docking system can swivel to help relieve the strain of lifting the seat into position in the car and becomes a solid base for other juvenile car seats. Once placed in one simple motion the seat automatically locks into place.
The infant car seat projects a similar design feel with the prominent frame element that provides side bolsters for side impact protection.
The clever tilting mechanism for reclining the child runs on a rigged track and only moves the inner seat construction to keep the center-point position of the child’s body fixed.
M!go stroller
A versatile stroller that fulfills all the functional demands consumers today look for. The child seat can tilt in different angles and by way of rotating the push handle can be directed to be either forward or backward facing.
The most compelling feature of the stroller is in its one hand, one foot folding mechanism, activated by a spring damper. By releasing the brake the stroller can be unfolded by simply lifting up the handle. For folding the stroller a foot trigger is build into the center frame to lower the mechanism.
Different stages of assembly showing the steps of unfolding the stroller.
